Janne Fagerlund



General description

I work as a postdoctoral researcher in the MODALITY research project at the Teacher Education Department of the Faculty of Education and Psychology at the University of Jyväskylä and as a national research vice coordinator in the international ICILS 2023 assessment study at the Finnish Institute for Educational Research. I also act as a regional coordinator for the national Innokas network (www.innokas.fi/en).

Research interests

My research focuses on education related to programming, computational thinking, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and digital data. I consider these subjects relevant for both problem-solving and literacy. In practice, I have explored pedagogical, didactic, and educational policy-related issues, such as learning content, curriculum development, teacher training, attitudes, assessment as well as supporting and enhancing students' learning in classroom settings.
