Abstract

In many countries, the ICT sector has a great need for skilled workers. Educational organizations have difficulties meeting this need with the current teaching methods and arrangements. People must acquire more education as adults and study while working. Younger students carry out their master's studies alongside work, too. Studying while working places demands on the flexibility of participation with teaching. Educational organizations are increasingly faced with difficulties in reaching out to students using location-based classroom education. Thus, arranging lectures in a classroom at certain times and places is not necessarily meaningful anymore. In this paper, we introduce a cloud-based video meeting solution modified for producing and sharing video-based learning material. In this solution, video-based learning material can be produced using any computer connected to the Internet at any time and without any separate production facilities. Videos are shared with the students through a custom-built www-based video content management system where videos are linked to the content of the course in a meaningful way.
