General description

As a Master's student in History, I am working on a thesis on migration, which deals with Finnish migration to the Middle East, Iraq, as part of project exports in the construction industry. I approach the topic through Oral history, more specifically through the experiences of teachers at a Finnish primary school in Baghdad.
I am also working as a research assistant in the Liquid Neutrals Academy project, of which my Master's thesis is to be a part.

I am particularly interested in the history of the Middle East and feel that there are many different perspectives on the region. As part of my studies, I have taken courses in education, museology and social sciences, focusing on the second half of the 20th century. In the future, my aim is to use my own multilingual skills in research and to approach social issues in a more diverse way.
