Yleiskuvaus
I am a postdoctoral researcher in the research project "Asymmetric Encounters: Intersubjectivity and the Sense of Boundaries" led by Dr. Joona Taipale. I am a phenomenologist and philosopher of cognitive science currently analysing our experiential sense of self and how it is shaped and transformed by the sociocultural dynamics of the world we are situated in. Even though my academic background is in Philosophy, I try to develop interdisciplinary research by both drawing from and working with theorists from different fields (e.g., cognitive neuroscience, sociology, and anthropology). An example of that is the doctoral research I did at the University of Exeter (UK), where I proposed an integration between phenomenological philosophy, embodied and enactive approaches to life and cognition, and the computational modelling framework known as the 'Free Energy Principle'.
Very generally, I am interested in the intersection between phenomenology and the cognitive sciences. I am particularly interested in how classical and contemporary phenomenological analyses of lived experience invite us to reframe our scientific understanding of the mind. Through that lens, I have explored different aspects of consciousness and cognition including embodiment, affectivity, temporality, and sociality.
