General description
I am a docent of exercise physiology working as a senior lecturer and as vice director of the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences Sports Technology Unit, Vuoatti.
My research primarily focuses on the effects of endogenous and exogenous hormones (e.g. the menstrual cycle, hormonal contraceptives, and menstrual dysfunction) on exercise responses and adapatations as well as performance (incl. motor control) in physically active and athletic females In addition, I am involved in research on low energy availability and altitude exposure on performance/health. My PhD thesis focused on concurrent strength and endurance training in recreational endurance runners.
