General description
I focus on fungal community ecology and conservation biology, especially of poorly known fungal groups. In my current post-doctoral project, I investigate and develop long term monitoring of dead wood organisms.
Active JYU affiliations

Research interests
I study when wood-inhabiting fungi can be detected, their ecological importance, and the effect of forest management on wood-inhabiting fungal communities. The results can be applied for conservation decisions and threat assessments, considering especially the poorly known fungal species.
