General description

I am interested in mathematics and teaching mathematics from school level to university. I wrote my doctoral thesis on stochastic analysis in 2009, and the same year I finished my teacher qualification. After advanced courses on probability theory, I turned to teaching basic courses on Calculus.

I enjoyed a great opportunity to learn more on how things are in high school nowadays when joining an author group of a series of high school mathematics books. This project gave me better understanding on the background of our students - and of the world where many of them work after graduation.

In addition to teaching and thesis supervision, my work includes helping our teacher students to plan their studies, and I am always happy to guide students of other disciplines, too. Furthermore, I assist teaching staff with technical things, and often interview our applicants.

My teaching 2023-24 (in Finnish):

  • Yliopistomatematiikkaan valmistava kurssi
  • Luonnontieteisiin valmistava kurssi
  • Calculus 1
  • Calculus 2
  • Calculus 3
  • Korkeakouluviikon matematiikka: Kompleksiluvut
  • Kompleksilaskenta
