Research interests

I am a doctoral candidate at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. My research focuses on the processes of burnout and recovery from it of participants in a national rehabilitation programme. It explores the process of recovery and furthermore, the development of these paths of recovery over a two-year period. Participants’ experiences, manifestation of agency and meaning attributions to the process are examined qualitatively (content and narrative analysis). In addition, the spouses' experiences of rehabilitees' burnout and recovery are explored, and recommendations for inclusion of and providing support for family members are made. The aim of the research is to provide an insight into the factors conducive to recovery and the effects of the process on spouses.
