'An understanding of the contemporary situation of Western philosophy, dominated by the theme of the ''end of metaphysics'', and of the emergence and development of certain contemporary key concepts and ideals (such as creativity) in the history of philosophy, advances the self-understanding of Western intellectual culture and also benefits its dialogues with non-Western traditions of thought and value systems.'
