Research interests

I am a microbial ecologist studying extreme soil environments in boreal and arctic ecosystems. Broadly, I am interested in how the known and unknown functions of microbes help sustain life on Earth and influence our future climate as drivers of carbon cycling and producers and consumers of greenhouse gases.
