Research interests

My research includes recovery of critical and valuable elements, especially rare earth metals, from industrial waste streams, and development of analytical methods for their analysis. This is crucial in developing circular economy and urban mining in Finland, and might have fundamental consequences for self-sufficiency of critical materials in the EU.
