Vesa Linnamo


General description

I received my Ph.D. in Biomechanics from the University of Jyväskylä, Finland in 2002. I am a professor in sports technology and currently working as the head of the Vuokatti Sports Technology Unit, Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences, University of Jyväskylä. Finland. My current research interests are mostly related to sports biomechanics, especially in Nordic winter sports. I have worked in different positions in University of Jyväskylä since 1992. In addition, I have almost 30 years of experience in basketball, including 8 years in top league player and over 20 years as a coach in different adult and junior series.

My research interests involve motor control and neuromuscular adaptation along with sports biomechanics, especially in Nordic winter sports.
