Research interests

My research mainly deals with questions of meaning production. Earlier, the focus was on reception and fandom but has shifted towards the study of cultural discourses concerning populism and activism especially. My main contribution is the sustained attempt to show the complexity and dialogicity of even the simplest cultural texts and exchanges and to point out their cultural aspects and backgrounds. At best, this can help us relativize our views of culture and society and avoid hard-and-fast, polarized positions.
