Research interests
My research focuses on the ability of primary school teachers, especially special education teachers, to assess the students' readiness of reading at the beginning of school and to identify difficulties in reading skills (reading fluency, reading comprehension) during primary school. In addition, I study the practices the teachers use to assess literacy skills and the accuracy of their assessments compared to the reading tests carried out by students.
Another of my wider research interests is the effectiveness of part-time special education in the development of literacy and arithmetic skills of students in need of support.
