General description

I am a university teacher of written communication excited about comics and the well-being affects that writing has. If you're doing your Bachelor's degree in the field of psychology or in the department of Music, Art and Culture, it is likely that you'll meet me during your studies. For Master's students, I offer writing tips in graduretriitti courses and help them to recognize their own skills.

Doctoral students find me on courses that support grant writing and the development of their academic expertise via social media platforms.

My job includes teaching of academic writing and its different genres, the writing process, feedback interaction, emotions connected to writing, as well as the meaning of creativity. I am especially interested how text and image together convey information.

I am Master of Arts (general literature 2009) and Doctor of Philosophy (comtemporary culture studies 2014). My doctoral dissertation dealt with postmodern fantasy in Don Rosa's Disney comics. This is why I am the official Ductor of Finland.

Currently I am not actively taking part in research, but in case needed, I'm consulting globally those colleagues espeacially interested in Disney comics research.
