Research interests
My research surrounds programming and computational thinking (CT) in primary education and teacher training. In particular, it focuses on the two main dimensions of the broad quest of programming and CT education in schools: (1) computational problem-solving skills for learning and working and (2) computational multiliteracy as a citizenship skill for everyone, today and in the future. The concrete viewpoints of my research include the important and thus far meagerly understood pedagogical, didactical, and educational policy aspects in programming and CT education, such as educational substance, curriculum development, teachers' competences and attitudes, and supporting and enhancing students' learning in classrooms.
