Research interests
Active aging and outdoor mobility of older people are central research themes. I study places and environments where older people are active. Physical environments may hinder ones mobility or provide attractive destinations for activity. Having an active approach to life and out-of-home activities are essential for maintaining health and function in old age. Research results may be applied in city planning.
