Weak non-covalent interactions are one important field of chemistry. Catalytic activity, helical structure of DNA and physical properties of water are just the chosen few examples of phenomena, which are well based on the weak interactions. The important part of their research is solid state structural chemistry, especially single crystal X-ray diffraction, by which the locations of atoms can be accurately defined.
