Tutkimuskuvaus
Heikot ei-kovalenttiset vuorovaikutukset ovat tärkeä osa kemiaa. Esimerkiksi katalyyttien toiminta, DNA:n kaksoiskierre ja veden fysikaaliset ominaisuudet perustuvat pitkälti heikkoihin vuorovaikutuksiin. Tärkeä osa niiden tutkimusta on kiinteän tilan rakennetutkimus ja erityisesti yksikideröntgenkristallografia, jolla atomien paikat voidaan tarkasti määrittää.
