General description
I am a professor of technology-enhanced language learning at the Centre for Applied Language Studies and a docent of experimental psycholinguistics and speech processing at the Departement of Languages at the University of Jyväskylä. I am also a UNESCO Chair on Inclusive Literacy Learning for All as well as head of secretariat in the GraphoWORLD Network of Excellence. I am the leader of the multidisciplinary GraphoLearn (GraphoGame)/ Ekapeli research and development team.

Research interests
My research is focused on reading and writing skill development in different languages and orthographies, dyslexia, interventions, skill assessments, phonology, speech processing, and evidence-based technology in language learning. I lead the multidisciplinary GraphoLearn team that has developed the evidence based GraphoLearn digital learning environment (info.GraphoLearn.com) for 30 languages to support learners in developing their reading and spelling skills.
