Eerika Koskinen-Koivisto


General description

I work as a Senior Researcher at the Dept. of History and Ethnology leading the Humanities section of the multidisciplinary Digital Citizen Science Center (Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation 2024-2028). I am a member in the delegation of the Finnish Literature Society, and vice editor-in-chief of Studia Fennica Ethnologica series (OA publication series of the Finnish Literature Society). In my research I apply ethnographic methods including sensory ethnography and my research interests include nature experiences and place attachment, material culture and people-object relationships, as well as difficult heritage and intergenerational memory.  I have acted in various interdisciplinary research groups and collaborated especially with museums.

In my research I apply qualitative and ethnographic methods and am interested in methodological experiments and new methodological tools. My research interests include nature experiences and place attachment, material culture and people-object relationships, as well as difficult heritage and cross-generational memory. During my career I have collaborated especially with museums. Recently, I led the project SENSOMEMO (2024, Research Council of Finland).
