General description

I am currently a doctoral researcher at the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy of the University of Jyväskylä. My dissertation will be a monograph which examines the politics of natural resources from an ontological point of view. Reserach areas covered in my dissertation include environmental social science, commons research and postmetaphysical ontology.

In addition to writing the monograph, my research has also produced some published results. I have authored one peer-reviewed article (Säynäjäkangas 2019) and co-authored two (Kellokumpu & Säynäjäkangas 2022; Veijola, Höckert, Carlin, Light & Säynäjäkangas 2019). The research topics of these articles include the role of commensurability in environmental problems, pulp  capitalism and academic conferences. I have also participated in the making of a Wisdom Letter (2/2020) by the Resource Wisdom community of the University of Jyväskylä. I have also co-edited a book (Veijola & Säynäjäkangas 2018). In addition to these publications I have written a number of non-peer-reviewed pieces and given more than 20 presentations on topics related to my research interests.
