Research interests

I am a Doctor of Social Sciences in Development Studies with research experience and publications in politics, postconflict social dynamics, heteronormativity and Christianity in Uganda. I am currently a post-doctoral researcher in an Academy of Finland -funded consortium research project in which together with colleagues from the Universities of Jyväskylä, Oulu, Dodoma and Dar es Salaam, we are exploring where and how citizenship is learned in Uganda and Tanzania. In this project, I will be looking particularly to weddings as arenas of teaching, learning and deliberating gendered notions of citizenship.
