Summary

The DigiHR project addresses the challenge of digitalisation of SMEs by developing digital HR skills, digital skills,
digitizing HR processes and increasing analytics utilization skills.

Human resource management is closely linked to business objectives and results. However, the personnel-related
information generated by the business remains largely unused, even though personnel is the company's most
important resource and personnel costs are the largest cost item. Data are also scattered across different systems and are not used to aid in systematic and proactive development. Digitalisation is a rapidly growing phenomenon, that also concerns personnel management. Digital HR expertise is a potential competitive advantage for companies, and its lack has been identified as one of the obstacles to development.

The purpose of the DigiHR project is to improve the digital HR skills of Central Finnish SME personnel in order to
strengthen SMEs' strategic competitive advantage. The project builds a digital HR development model to support SME management. The project will support personel in the Covid-19 pandemic-forced digital leap and enable companies to operate despite the challenges.

The objectives of the project are:
1. Increase understanding, knowledge and skills in digital human resource management
2. Build development pathways for SMEs to develop digital human resource management
3. Gain experience in different areas of HR analytics (pilots)
4. Model the digital HR development model through the experiences and lessons learned

The project's activities focus on process development, process digitization, building company development paths,
analytics pilots and building a digital HR development model. There are 12 SMEs involved in close co-operation
throughout the project, and in addition, open participation opportunities are organized for larger number of participants, e.g. in the form of a webinar series and management sparring events.

As a result of the project, the digital skills of the management, key personnel and personnel of the participating
companies have improved. Companies' HR processes have been modeled, basic metrics have been built, digital HR
applications have been integrated, HR systems expertise has been developed and HR analytics has been introduced
to support decision-making. In the future, the company will be able to utilize digital platforms, data and tools in its HR
processes in a modern and competitive way, ie the companies' digital capabilities have been strengthened.
