TFK project Sharing Best Practices in Crisis Preparedness in Social Work is coordinated by JYU International Office together with Dept of Social Sciences & Philosophy and the partner universities are
• University of Eastern Finland (UEF)
• Tata Institute for Social Sciences (TISS)
• Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (RCSS)

The higher education institutions of this project will carry out joint summer and winter school events, online modules and seminars, semester-long and short-term student mobility, internships of Finnish students in India and teaching visits in the field of social work, with a special focus on crisis preparedness related to climate change and migration.

The aims and expected impacts of the project are
1) to develop mutually relevant curriculum, pedagogy and research sharing in the given topics
2) to continue and strengthen the cooperation between the JYU, UEF, TISS and RCSS in social work and social policy
3) to produce new online teaching content related to these topics
4) to provide Master-level and PhD students of the four institutions with high quality short-term and long-term study abroad opportunities and virtual study opportunities that increase students’ academic expertise and intercultural competence
5) to provide financial support that enables physical student and staff mobility between the Finnish and the Indian institutions
6) to increase direct contacts between academics of JYU and the partner institutions in the mentioned fields, facilitating co-creating research (joint publications) and academic cooperation

The project work plan includes:
- Winter School 2022 in India in January/February 2022
- Summer School 2023 in Finland in August 2023
- Staff exchange, connected to the winter and summer school programmes
- Joint online teaching & webinars and joint PhD seminars
- Internships of Finnish social work students in India
- 2-3 –month research periods of Indian PhD students in Finland
- Co-creating research (joint publications)
