Tiivistelmä

Learners in R YOUCULT are cultural workers employed at rural municipalities or cultural institutions, who have or are expected in the future to have close contact with youths. Learners will be selected by the rural municipalities and rural cultural institutions. Rural municipalities and cultural institutions given the opportunity to enroll their cultural workers as learners are invited by the Region partners in R YOUCULT. In Denmark this is Region Southern Denmark, in Finland it is the University of Jyväskylä and in Holland it is xxxxx. In the local need analysis and local pilot testing learners will be active involved in the development of course material. In the joint universal program, they will be participating learners and they will be visiting students in the two countries.

The staff at the regions are from the cultural section and they are selected for their networks and collaborations with cultural institutions and cultural sections at municipalities and because of the access to the policy level in the regions. The region staff will participate in the R YOUCULT kick of meeting, they will secure the recruitment of learners for the local need analysis and local pilot tests as well as for the joint program. The region staff will evaluate the cultural institutions impacts from having their cultural workers enrolled in the joint education program. The staff from the regions will take part in transnational region meeting, at which they will exchange experiences from the evaluations, and they will extract recommendation for rural youth culture policy at a national, regional and local level. The region staff will disseminate the policy recommendations at a final virtual R YOUCULT conference hosted by University of Southern Denmark.

The course developing and teaching staff is researchers selected because of their academic background in and longtime research and teaching experience within rural and cultural sociology and for their affiliation at highly recognized universities. The researchers will participate in the kick to start meeting and they will carry out the in-depth need analysis including both the rural youths and the learners in the development of a local pilot course material and pilot tests. The researchers will present the needs analysis and findings for national research colleagues at a multiplier event, and they will participate in a transnational meeting with the partner researchers. At the transnational meeting the researchers will share the findings and exchange knowledge and experiences from the local pilot projects. The researchers will on this background develop and design an innovative and universal framework for qualitative training of cultural workers for facilitating rural youths’ culture. They will test the universal material in a pilot course in each partner country and they will be part of the blended learning including exchange of teachers and student visits. The researchers will after the pilot testing of the universal training material adjust and develop the final course material, including a user manual. Concluding the researcher will write a final report including the impact and evaluation of the R YOUCULT. The researcher will disseminate the course material at a final virtual conference hosted by University of Southern Denmark.
