Summary

Our Centre of Excellence will create a more comprehensive understanding of accumulative risk and protective factors for learning and socio-emotional well-being, and more efficient means of support in various contexts of learning. Learning problems (LPs) have prevalence rates of approximately 10-20%. They have a high impact on an individual's quality of life, and they place a high economic burden on education, health, and social care. Importantly, LPs do not develop in isolation; various inter-related factors play a crucial role in why some individuals manage and some don't with the increasing demands of rapidly changing society. Our CoE, including experts from diverse fields of research, applies an integrative multilevel person-oriented approach to create knowledge of neurobiological, cognitive, socio-emotional, motivational, and environmental underpinnings of learning and well-being.
