Summary
Studies have claimed that high intensity training (HIT) is superior to low intensity training (LIT) in many aspects. However, in practice people mostly use LIT and it is also often a prerequisite for high performance level. Surprisingly little is known what makes LIT so important.
In this cycling intervention LIT-only and HIT-only groups will be formed and comprehensive adaptations between them will be compared.
A new approach to judge a performance is applied: Main test will be fatigue resistance in 3 hours low intensity exercise. Other tests include 15 sec maximal power, maximal aerobic capacity, and physiological changes.
