Summary
The funding applied from the Kauppalaisseuran säätiö is aimed for organising an International Responsible Sport Management Symposium in Jyväskylä in the end of 2022. This symposium is offered to the RESPO (Responsible Business and Management of Sport) and other international sport management students. International experts both from academia and sport organisations will be invited as guest lecturers in the symposium. The programme will be multidisciplinary and to serve not only academic interests but also practical working life in the field. One of the central focus will be in the business matters of local and regional sport related companies and organisations in Jyväskylä and Central Finland, in which the students work in their assignments during the symposium. Stake holders of the RESPO programme and other key experts and decision-makers will be also invited to the event. The City of Jyväskylä will be invited as a partner of this symposium. Univeristy of Jyväskylä contributes to the symposium by offering lecture premises.
The applied funding from the Kauppalaisseuran säätiö for the symposium and other development work for the programme is in total 26.925 €, which is targeted to the following activities 1) Jyväskylä International Responsible Sport Management Symposium in Jyväskylä, 2) international benchmark-visit to the University of Innsbruck 3) production of teaching materials and 4) marketing and promotion of the programme (e.g. participation in the EASM (European Association for Sport Management) conference in September 2022.
