Summary

Several biological and environmental processes cause changes in our behavior during aging. Here we focus on our ability to make predictions of incoming sensory stimuli and on our ability to form rules from repeating stimulus series in participants ranging from adolescents to elderly. We will use electroencephalogram (EEG) to measure brain activity and link the brain level indices to cognitive measures and questionnaire data of, for example, depression symptoms. We will further study EEG designs to make them usable for participants with compromised attentional capacity and ability to concentrate for long time periods.
