Summary

In this doctoral thesis I study challenges of nature conservation using The Supplemental Mire Conservation Programme as a case study. Often challenges in conservation are based on the society, and it is not always clear, whether they are even real or just fictive. Challenges may be based on e.g. political changes, lack of knowledge among conservation experts, or destructive actions made by landowners. Firstly, I study whether particular rumourd challenges in The Supplemental Mire Conservation Programme do exist and secondly, I search for solutions to the existing challenges. The aim of my study is to assist such conservation planning which more likely contributes to practical conservation solutions, which produces good and functional solutions from the biodiversity's viewpoint, and which is more acceptable from the society's viewpoint.
