Summary

The main aim of the research is to investigate the effectiveness of nature-based intervention in the treatment of adult patients diagnosed with depression in a randomised controlled study design. In the nature-based intervention the well-being effects of nature are purposefully and professionally applied as a part of treatment, rehabilitation, therapy and guidance. These research findings will be nationally and internationally meaningful since this study design also includes a control group who are receiving treatment as usual. The aim is to recruit in total 80 patients in the nature-based intervention and 80 patients in the control group who receive the treatment with delay.
