Summary
The success factors for the Central Finland wellbeing services county strategy include a solid knowledge base and systematic utilization of information at all levels of activity, as well as the purposeful use of artificial intelligence. This project supports the objectives of Central Finland Wellbeing services county of improving the equality, accessibility and accessibility of services, as well as strengthening the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of health-care operations. Utilizing health data through data analyst and machine learning is a cost-effective means of promoting well-being and making cost savings. Osteoarthritis and cancer diseases, for example, impose significant costs on the society, making their prevention and early detection the most effective means of increasing patient well-being and achieving cost savings. On the other hand, AI models and data analytics methods are commercially highly scalable products. Digitalization and remote diagnostics reduce the need for patients and doctors to move, which is why solutions also support sustainable development.
AI hub Keski-Suomi II project promotes intelligent utilization of data accumulated in the health service system and biobank by introducing new data resources and developing new methods for the development platforms established in Central Finland AI hub network for cancer and osteoarthritis research. The project also strengthens the regional development network of domestic and international development partners, with the aim of bringing in the latest information as well as expanding and diversifying the information content of digital datasets. During the project, information on the development work of AI hub in Central Finland will also be tranferred to companies. In addition, the project also produces synthetic datasets that accelerate the testing of new research and product ideas and the launch of research and development projects in the region. The results of the project will make digital data and methods collected for osteoarthritis and cancer research as well as treatment better accessible to researchers and product developers. The project's pilot cases bring new digital methods to biobank cancer research and methodological development of early diagnostics of osteoarthritis, which contributes both to the well-being of citizens and creating opportunities for the development of new commercial AI applications in Central Finland.
