Summary
The marketing industry is one of the most wasteful industries on the planet. No other industry would tolerate releasing products (ads) that are known to be 98% ineffective. The goal of this project is to develop an optimal path to post-project commercialisation of a novel, science-based, scalable, ad-prediction framework incorporating advanced multi-modal video-analysis technology developed by leading experts at the University of Jyväskylä. The future aim is to offer key stakeholders such as advertising agencies, businesses, content creators, and influencers a way to 'audition' ads prior to a campaign to identify those most likely to engage their target audience, reducing waste, reducing costs, and increasing both efficiency and effectiveness. We will conduct both preparation for commercialisation research and applied commercialisation research, working with a range of industry partners to co-create our performance-prediction solution. Concrete outputs will include two patent applications, two peer-reviewed journal articles, and a benchmark-setting prediction solution based on cutting-edge technology.
