Summary
In this project, we aim to combine simulations and experiments for developing plasmonic nanostructure platforms for artificial light harvesting with polariton-enhanced light capture, transfer and storage capabilities. The project is firmly rooted in our previous research achievements, in particular the exploitation of polaritons for enhancing exciton transport and conversion. While high-yield fabrication of plasmonic nanostructures for large enough areal coverage for real devices is highly challenging, our pioneering work on precisely controlled DNA-origami-based self-assembly of plasmonic nanostructures puts us in an unique position to address these challenges and deliver the required plasmonic nanostructure platforms with easy fabrication and up-scaling.
