RECITE will transform the circulation, relevance and use of research in teacher education , connecting research and research users, such as teachers, schools and pupils (refer to ET 2020 Working group document 2016). Its main aim is to create a positive and more focused research ethos and culture in participating institutions, with the ultimate effect of improving teaching and learning for school pupils. The RECITE proposal addresses research management, firstly by making it visible, and secondly by sharing innovative practices across the partner institutions, which are all involved in teacher education research. This will have the effect of putting teacher education ahead of other disciplines in research management practice, and will help to establish teacher education research as a significant discipline. RECITE will produce generic research management guidelines, which can be adapted to local circumstances, but it will also use teacher education as an example of how innovative research management can transform cultures and produce real benefits for - ultimately – children and young people.
1. Map ongoing research projects and research interests/skills in partner institutions;
2. Establish mutual research areas/needs in collaboration with school clusters/leaders/teachers;
3. Map existing research governance structures in partner institutions;
4. Produce research management/governance overview at institutional and consortium level;
5. Create long-term research strategies for teacher education at institutional, consortium and international level;
6. Exploit these strategies to change the overall research ecosystem in teacher education.
