Summary

Micromechanical systems have become established as a great platform for pushing quantum mechanicsto macroscopic scales and for ultra-sensitive sensing of mass or distance. We propose to explore theintegration of ferromagnetic magnons with coherent micro-mechanical and micro-acoustic modes withthe goal of creating truly new hybrid quantum systems, with new functionalities foreseen in the classicallimit. The concepts of such hybrids have previously been touched upon in only a handful of scientificworks. Our proposed work will contribute to a major paradigm shift in field of magnonics.
