Summary
FORTHEM -project, coordinated by Johannes Gutenberg Universität Mainz, aims to create an alliance of seven multidisciplinary universities in seven EU-countries, based on existing multi-disciplinary, bilateral and trilateral collaborations and both shared and complementary expertise. By the end of the 3-year project period the proposed alliance plans to implement the following activities:

• create a joint digital academy (short explanation needed: what is joint digital academy!) to facilitate the provision of online courses and staff training modules
• create a functioning model for knowledge-creating teams and pilot the action in 7 topics
• increase the quality, attractiveness and European dimension of education through pooling of expertise, joint teaching and innovative mobility of students and staff
• considerably increase student and staff mobility (upt tp 30 %) through attractive short-term mobility options for students, virtual & blended mobility and increased staff mobility
