Summary

The first priority is to support innovative teaching methods for teacher education regarding digital / computational thinking competences. Computational thinking will be a basic / key competence for future generations. It will be necessary in any job to work with computers – the competence to understand and influence computers at the workplace is thus crucial. This basic understanding requires the competence of computational thinking. This means that also 1) teachers from all subjects need to be prepared and supported to teach those and 2) curricula need to be adapted and take this skill into account. Thus, the digital competences and support are in the key focus of the project. We do not solely focus on programming but the deeper understanding of the use and mechanisms of computers and algorithms.
