Summary

The project aims to gain understanding on the mechanism affecting direct air capturing of C1 compounds i.e. CO2, CH4, using MOFs and the subsequent catalytic conversion of these compounds to carbon nano structures suitable for energy storage and photocatalytic production of H2. Also long-life MOF structures for the cost-efficient conversion of C1 compounds in ambient temperatures will be designed and used to improve UV-assisted catalytic reactions of MOF and widen the absorption range towards visible light.
