Summary

I am applying grant from Kone foundation to for my last (fourth PhD) year to finish my PhD studies. With the grand, I can focus to finish the rest of the articles and write my thesis. The topic of my thesis is bacteriophages (phages), viruses, that can infect columnaris causing flavobacterium columnare. I have isolated and characterized phages from fish farms and studied those capability to be used in phagetherapies with rainbow trout. My PhD increases the well characterized phages amount in phage libraries. With this information we can test and predict which phages are infecting certain bacterium. We have studied with these phages use and effect against bacterium infection with fish.
