Summary
Access, Privacy, Profiling, and Intelligent Applications (APPIA) project is a part of the Cyber Security and Software Engineering Research Site (S2ERC, https://www.serc.net/). S2ERC is a National Science Foundation Industry/University Cooperative Research Center (I/UCRC). S2ERC is funded by National Science Foundation (NSF), Business Finland (BF), universities, and participating affiliates. S2ERC is part of the NSFs’ Industry University Cooperative Research Centers (I/UCRC) -program.
The focus of the APPIA -project is on the secure cyber ecosystem with credential management, ethical user profiling, privacy protection, privacy and utility tradeoff, inline software security testing for developed applications, and reliable interaction by block chain technology.
The mission of APPIA is to conduct a program of applied research on software security, system security, and software technology problems. The APPIA consortium consists of four Finnish universities (University of Jyväskylä, University of Oulu, Tampere University, and Aalto University), one US university (Ball State University) and 8 industrial affiliates (Fingersoft, F-Secure, Netox, Ontario Systems, Radiator Software, Solution Compass, TCD Consulting and Research, and Tieto). In addition, the APPIA project collaborates with other S2ERC US universities and affiliates.
