Summary
The project creates a plan for monitoring and rod fishing of salmonid fishes in the rapids of the Heinävesi watercourse. In addition, the projects analyses tag returns of wild trout marked in the Kermankoski Rapids from fishers and reports the capture size, site and gear. Finally, the project purchases the DNA analyses of the salmonid alevins going to be sampled from redds in the rapids in the Heinävesi and Varkaus watercourses in spring 2020. The analysis reveals the fish species, landlocked salmon or trout, and thus, the size of the female spawning stock and the location of redds.
