Summary

Investigate how recent advances in reinforcement machine learning can be employed to enhance IoT security mechanisms in a zero-trust networks. With the progress in cloud and edge computing, we believe there is a possibility to design virtualized environments capable of simulating both benign and malicious traffic that can be efficiently employed for training state-of-art RL agents. The main practical contribution is developing an intelligent defense system which relies on SDN and NFV technologies and allows customers to mitigate attacks performed against their devices by evaluating risks related to the intrusion and making an optimal real-time decision on the security policy.
