Summary

The project will look for concepts for the most appropriate use of high-altitude hypoxia equipment for both athletes and asthmatics/diabetics that may benefit from hypoxia. Adapting to a high altitude is very individual for the athlete, and in addition, adaptation may change with the increase in the number of days spent in the altitude. In patients with asthma or other respiratory diseases (tuberculosis), sanatoriums have been established for mountain conditions. The purpose of the study is to identify the types of operating concepts and equipment that could achieve the benefits of a high altitude simulations in the operating environment of Vuokatti Olympia training Centre.
