Summary
In Webs of hate project, the researchers of the Universities of Jyväsylä and Tampere and the Police University College map the producers and distributers of hate speech and their motives. Hate speech in social media is scrutinised both qualitatively (thematic interviews, internet ethnography, content analysis) and quantitatively (network analysis and machine learning). The knowledge produced in the project will utilise political decision making and enhance a more inclusive societal discussion.
