Summary

Customer value creation processes are changing radically. In order to succeed in the turbulent environment, companies must learn to understand and identify differences between their customers more deeply to be able to offer tailored services in accordance with customer needs. The aim of the ReDO research project is to understand how the digital value creation logic can be utilised in new service development. Our vision is to advance knowledge and understanding of digital services in the future with focus on concepts such as customer experience, reversed data usage, omnichannel strategies, and digital business models. The project aims to further generation of new business by gaining information on final customer value creation processes for the purposes of companies and organisations offering digital services, as well as unite them with producers of existing and future technologies. The research group aims to develop a deep understanding of everyday situations, experiences and needs in both consumer and corporate customers’ lives. These themes are approached through the perspective of different channels with emphasis on mobile services. The created knowledge is then reflected upon companies’ ability to develop novel service concepts where utilisation of customer data plays an important role. Through the utilisation of this data, the research project generates new knowledge for companies on how to create correct solutions and develop business models.
ReDO project is coordinated by University of Oulu / Oulu Business School, and implemented together with research partners from University of Jyväskylä, University of Tampere and VTT Oy. Our business partners are Enfo Zender Oy, Helsinki Capital Partners Oy, HUS, OP-Pohjola osk/Pivo and Tieto Finland Oy.-
