Summary

The purpose of the project is to create a prototype of a new and innovative solution called Virtual Coach for professionals of healthcare and well-being by developing preventive tools like a dynamic balance test and non-invasive biosensor tools for measurements of cortisol and nutrition hormones from saliva. Testing dynamic balance control, it may be possible to prevent accidents in a field where good physical fitness is required. By improving and developing non-invasive measurements it will be possible to enhance monitoring of well-being. This may also have positive effects on homebased health care. The main outcomes are valid tools to 1) measure dynamic balance control and 2) personally monitor well-being markers. According to the results, it is possible to remodel health inspections by adding a performance test in the concept. New services and utilization of digitalization in health care services may improve possibilities in small and middle sized companies.

Project is aiming to work with health, wellness and sport technology companies that are interested in utilizing the project results.

The duration of the project is 20 months (10/2016−05/2018) and total funding 388 889 €. Project will be carried out in co-operation with University of Jyväskylä, University of Oulu, Kajaani University of Applied Science and VTT-MIKES.
