Ethnologia Europaea – Journal of European Ethnology is an international, double-blind peer-reviewed journal with a focus on cultures and societies past and present. Ethnologia Europaea is anchored in the Nordic research community. The editor-in-chief, Laura Stark, is based at the Univ. of Jyväskylä, Finland. The journal’s editorial board consists of experts within the field representing universities and research institutions from all the Nordic countries, including Iceland. The journal has been fully open access since 1st of March 2019.

The publisher is the Open Library of the Humanities (OLH). OLH is an open access publication platform with a Library Partnership Subsidy model in which libraries collectively support open access publication through OLH rather than pay individual subscription feesto each journal (see www.openlibhums.org). This means that there will be no article processing
charges (APCs) for our authors. OLH will fund the layout and upload of the journal online, as well as promotion of the journal, indexing etc. We are listed on Scopus and DOAJ.

Our journal has costs that can no longer be covered by the income from selling journal subscriptions. These costs include primarily the fees for our freelance copyeditor and production assistant, as well as for the graphic design of the cover.
