Summary
Congress is a part of ”International Congress on Science and Skiing” series of which the first one was organize in Austria 1996. An International Congress on Science and Nordic Skiing has been organized in Vuokatti 2006, 2012 and 2015 with over 100 participant from 16 countries. Now it has been decided that a Congress focusing on Nordic skiing will no longer be separately organized but Vuokatti has been accepted to organize the 8th International Congress on Science and Skiing which will include also alpine skiing. Special theme of the congress will be combine the scientific knowledge about training to practical coaching. Researchers, doctors, coaches students, athletes and sport professionals are expected to participate in the congress. Estimated number of participants is 300. Congress venue is at Vuokatti Sports Institute. Professor Vesa Linnamo will be the congress chair and professor Stefan Lindinger the vice-chair.
